News from the Gambia

We have been supporting schools in the Gambia for four years.  We have linked with Agape Nursery School in Bansang and Kerewan Lower Basic School in the village of Kerewan, just outside Bansang.

Through the charity "Empower" we send out boxes by ship four times a year and once a year a group of volunteers travel out to Gambia to visit the schools and oversee the projects.

Thank you to Galleywood School for collecting trainers, sandals, wellies, shoes and other resources for Kerawan Lower Basic School.  Here is a picture of Sue Read, our volunteer who delivered them.

School in Gambia starts on the 19th September.  All the sponsor children have their material for their unifrom and new exercise books and pencils.

The tailors in the village make all the school uniforms.

Our next shipment will be leaving at the beginning of November 2016.  Please leave any shoes, wellies, crocs, books, early years equipment in the box provided in the school reception.

Thank you
