Mini Olympics
Dear Parents,
On Tuesday 7th June at Chelmsford Sport the Year 2 children will be taking part in a Mini Olympics at Chelmsford Athletic Centre in Melbourne (Salerno Way, Chelmsford, Essex, CM1 2EH). The children will compete in a range of multi skill activities organised by young sports leaders from the secondary schools. They will be taught what to do on the day and will be practising a range of skills. The games will close with the results and presentations ceremony.
The event begins with a parade for all children at 10:00am and ends at 12:00pm. The children will be travelling to and from the event by coach.
Parents are invited to come to the event to watch as there will be space in the stands. However, if the weather spoils the plans the competition will take place inside and unfortunately will not have room to accommodate the parents or spectators. We have been asked by the Chelmsford Sports Partnership to remind you not to upload any photos onto Facebook or social media, except of your own children (E.g. if your child gets a medal on the podium – you cannot up load the other children on the podium too).
Children will get changed into their PE kit in school and will need to take water. You may wish to send your child in with some trainers as they offer a bit more support but their plimsolls will also be fine. If the weather is set to be warm the children may also need a sun hat and sun cream.
We hope all the children enjoy the event and taking part in a wide range of activities.
Thank you for your continued support.
Miss E Usher
